Scotland is surely one of the best places in the UK to find excellent golf courses which rival anywhere else in the world. The famous competition courses of St.Andrews, Gleneagles and Carnoustie are amongst the more well known but there are over 600 to choose from and each offers its own special characteristics and qualities. Surrounded by the most wonderful countryside and coast there is also a wide variety of accommodation available, making a golfing holiday the perfect pastime at any time of year. From Muirfield in the South to Loch Ness in the Highlands the choice is endless. There are also many state of the art driving ranges which offer expert tuition and superb practice facilities with lessons readily available for booking. Restaurant and bar facilities as well as extensive ranges of equipment are available at most of the golf shops throughout the various venues where well trained staff are always on hand to offer help, knowledge and advice.
