Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre

Details for Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre

Set on the shores of Loch Lomond is the Birds of Prey Centre. Come along and experience the relationship between man and these fine birds, it is something to be admired and enjoyed.

Believe it or not this place is only thirty minutes from Glasgow. Come and learn about the thirty birds they home here, Kestrel’s Buzzards, Hawks and many many more. It’s the fact that thanks to the falconers, you get quite close to these birds and that is when you fully appreciate the power and strength, you really would not want one as a pet. There are no actual displays as this is against their ethics.

The Centre is in lovely settings, like taking a stroll thru an enchanted forest with the bird's houses to visit along the way, the centre is open throughout the majority of the year, it is shut during the winter months so check your openings dates and times.

The Centre is manned by volunteers and it carries on the good work of the young man Brian Haining who founded the centre in 2004, sadly in 2006 Brian lost his life to cancer but this Centre is a wonderful tribute to this young man and volunteers are always needed and the pay is the satisfaction of helping these magnificent birds live a good and cared for life.

Whatever your reason for coming, just come and enjoy.
